BREATHING, WHISPERS & MY CAT PROTECTOR

I've lived I'm my house with my mum and older brother for about 5 years, we didn't know it was haunted until about a year and a half ago.

We have always owned cats, we are definitely cat people! (This is just a bit of back-ground information to let you in on everything).

One night my cat jumped out of a window that's about 50 feet from the ground, he bashed his mouth and had to me taken to the vet and stay overnight.

That night at about 2:15am my mum was woken by loud breathing, it was coming from the direction of her bedside table, which is pushed right against the wall and there is only about a 1 foot gap between the table and her bed, so none of us could have been doing it (I was asleep in the bed next to her, but she could hear my breathing as well as the other breathing). She lay there very scared, listening for about 15 minutes when all of a sudden it stopped.

At 2:30am my brother Troy woke up and heard the same breathing noise by his bedside table, he sleeps alone so there is no one it could have been! He got a bit scared (though he only admits it to me) and switched on his lamp. Usually in ghost stories this is the time when the noise stops, but it didn't stop, Troy still heard it for about 15 minutes, then it just got quieter until it stopped. When we all woke up Troy and my Mum told me what they had heard, I had slept right through it, but I was still scared at the thought of living in a haunted house.

I stayed at home while Mum and Troy picked the cat up from the vet (he was ok, just needed us to give him tablets which was a horror story in its self). I was sitting on the floor in the living room watching TV and from the doorway I heard whispering. I couldn't make out what the voices were saying, I am sure there was more than one voice, but I was frozen with fear for about a minute, then the voices got louder like they were coming toward me. Boy I have never moved so fast! I jumped onto the couch and didn't move until my family got home. I told them what happened, they didn't laugh or anything.

The strange thing is none of us have heard anything like that since the cat came home. I really believe he is our protector from that ghost. I know there is more then one.

My Mum's Fiancé who died last Christmas is here, we communicate with him sometimes, which is nice, though it does make me sad sometimes as I do miss him. Sometimes, I get a really ominous feeling from a room, its happening a lot in the bathroom lately, and if its late at night and I need to get a drink, I make my mum come downstairs with me (really grown up, since I'm 19), but other than that nothing much else has happened.

A FEW OF MY EXPERIENCES

I've had a lot of experiences with ghosts over the years. I'm 20 and I've easily had 50 encounters with ghosts/demons/energies or whatever you want to call them. The earliest I can remember was when I was 6.

I shared a room with my mum and because of that am used to her snoring! One night it was really loud as she had a cold and it woke me quite a few times. The one that it relevant was about 3 or 4am, I woke and turned to look over at my mum and saw something that to this day scares the bejesus out of me. Right next to my bed was a chair that wasn't supposed to be there. It was old and tattered, the kind of thing my mum wouldn't have let into the house! But it was see-through. There was and old person sitting in it, they too were see-through, I'm not sure if it was an old lady or man, just that they had gray medium Length hair, and looked wrinkled and their skin was an ashen kind of color.
Well that was it for me! I did the very childish reaction of hiding under the covers! I must have fallen asleep sometime later as I woke up at about 9am and the chair and its occupant was gone. OK, so I may have dreamed that, after all anything is possible (except faster then light- speed travel, but thats a different story!) But I felt I was woken by my mum's snoring and I just KNOW I was awake. And it wasn't just that, the head of my bed was next to the door to my room, so if I was facing my left I could see out into the hall and see the stairs, but I could never do that, as after about a minute I would get this horrid feeling of being watched. Not just normally being watched, but being stared at, like something was looking through my and into my soul and being only a little girl it terrified me, so I always faced the wall! We lived in that house for about six years and then moved, and those where the only things I ever felt.

Then we moved into a hostel. If you don't know what that is, it's kind of a shelter, for people who don't have a home while they wait for one. It used to be an old peoples home. I feel like that says it all, like when you read a story that starts with "Late one night I was walking home and decided to take a shortcut through the cemetery."! You kind of inwardly groan, knowing that it's as haunted and anything could be! Anyway, it was really haunted!

I was 10 when we moved in, about a week before my 11th birthday. It was just me, my mum and my brother. We all had insomnia because of bad experiences at our last house (nothing to do with ghosts, the problem was the living!) And so we would stay up late watching TV, listening to the radio, or just goofing around. There was this one radio station we listened to that held a phone-in quiz at 3am so we were always up for that and regularly tried phoning in. I'll never forget this night as long as I live! I had just phoned in and was asked a question about Swan Lake, didn't know the answer and so said "I'm only 11!" Which was actually used as a phrase on the show for quite a few weeks! (which I am very proud of!). Anyway, It was my mum's turn to phone to me and Troy were sitting on the stairs, from there you can see through a set of glass swing doors, which led to our front door, and then you could see another set of glass swing doors.

We were just listening to the radio and goofing around when all of a sudden the furthest set of doors swing open. But there was nothing that could have pushed them, we would have seem someone push from either side as they were made from glass, and it can't have been the wind as it was a hot September and there was no wind. Also they were inner doors. We stood frozen and just looked at the doors and each other. We told our mum and she said she has heard the doors, as they are warped and when they close they knock together. We talked to the people who run the hostel the next morning when they came into the office and they had surveillance tapes, they played it back and the doors did swing, but no one was there to push them.

The hostel had four floors and one friend we made there lived on the 3rd with her three daughters (we were on the 1st, though there was also a basement level below us). One Day I went to ask if her girls could come and play, but when I knocked there was no one there. So walking back down the stairs I noticed how quiet it had gotten. All of a sudden I heard breathing, deafening breathing and then heard something, definitely not someone, chasing me, I was so fast down the stairs, I almost fell more then one, but made it back to my room safely.

Because of what had happened with the doors my mum and brother believed me. I never went anywhere else in the hostel alone! We moved out and into a flat after 11 months.

Also, while we were still living in the hostel we used to use an Ouija Board, and about 2 weeks before I was due to have my tonsils removed we did one and contacted a spirit that said he was my mums dad. He told me that he would be watching over me during the op. When I woke from the anesthetic I had the clearest picture of him sitting in an arm chair soaking his feet in a metal tub. He died before I ever got to see him, when I was only a little baby, and I had only seen one picture of him, but when I told my mum what I had seen, she told me I had described how he looked before he got sick, he died of cancer and I had only seen one picture of him which was taken after he was diagnosed. And the chair he was sitting in was his chair, and there is no other way I could have gotten it so right.

Anyway, onto all the things that happened in our flat!

The think that happened most was cigarettes would be snapped in half, even if they were kept in the box, this happened for the five years we were there so it can't have been a coincidence! Also there was an experience once that really scared the heck out of me! (Yes, another one!).

The layout of our flat was that the hall ran the length of our home, but there was only a light switch at the end by the front door, and the bedrooms being at the other end. Just inside the front door was the toilet, put there I suppose if you came home busting for a pee! One night I needed to do just that, only as I came out of my room I noticed the hall light wasn't on. I decided to just walk really quickly down the hall, it wasn't that long after all. As I walked past the living room I froze. It was dark, but there was enough moonlight to see that where the living room fire had once been there was now a huge black dog, along the lines of a rottwieller. It was massive, about 3-4 feet tall, and somehow merged with the wall where the fire should have been. I could hear it barking and growling, just generally going nuts, but it was muted, like I was hearing it while my ears where packed with wax! Well suffice to say, I forgot all about peeing and ran back to bed and stayed there wide awake until morning. Luckily it never happened again.

Also something that happened to me a few times is I would be in the kitchen making a snack and reached for a knife to cut bread, being me I always chose the biggest sharpest knife! I would put the knife on the top and get the bread, then reach for the knife and it would slide away from my hand. This happened three times, and I think it was a warning as when I grabbed the knife after it happened, all three times I cut my hand! Not on purpose or anything, but the knife just slipped. Maybe it happened because the knife moved, I don't know, but I only realized it happened when I cut myself one night after we moved into this house and we were all talking about our past ghosts!

One thing that happened that related to our whole block, instead of just our house was one night I was on the top floor, the 5th, with a friend, looking at the stars when all of a sudden we heard so much noise, like shouting, machinery, and traffic all rolled into one, and about it, all around us we heard shouting telling us to get out! There are about 80-100 steps from 5th floor to ground floor, and we both ran down them in about 30 seconds! I think that must be a record! We never went up there again. That was it for that place.

We moved into this house almost 6 years ago, and the story I already have posted is about here, though I have had one thing happen since that story. Lately I keep hearing my name called when no one is calling me. It happens about 10 times a day! A week ago I was sitting with my brother in the living room, and I heard what sounded like my mum calling me, and asked troy if he heard it, he said yes, but said it sounded like mum was calling him! So that's weird. I'm used to it, it's just annoying is all.

So that's about all my stories, there are plenty of times I've had the feeling of being watched or not being alone, but they happen too often to mention dates! Actually, once when I was in a pub down the road from me, I went into the ladies and felt this really weird presence, and actually saw a story on here from a girl who lives near me who felt the same thing, so it's cool to know I wasn't imagining it! But thats about it for now, hope this story wasn't too long, but I wanted to get it all out.
